We have taken out insurance using the same broker and underwriter since 2008. We that the broker has not disclosed a material fact about our policy. (Our home suffered a cracked drain which resulted in a crack in the brickwork of the bay - all repaired prior to our purchase some years ago). We disclosed this from the start. Each year our proposal forms were incorrect saying no sign of movement. Each year we have chased up for the proposal to be amended and received the correctly amended forms. Always handled by the branch manager.
Until Aug 11 - the branch manager moved on. We think our insurance has been cancelled and a new policy enforced with an exclusion for subsidence. No official information, except verbal that the policy wasn't set up correctly at the beginning (2008) and a new policy in the post today with no covering letter of explanation.

What can we do? The FOS and FSA seem toothless.
Have sent a formal complaint - but I believe they have:
maladministered the policy
mis sold the policy
not disclosed a material fact
possibly fraudulently adjusted a proposal document
failed to inform
mis informed
are negligent.

Has anybody got any advice please?
The main priority for us is to have no insurance black marks in our history that we constantly have to declare - when we disclosed the movement from the start - we buy 9 policies per year this would be a big problem for us.

Plus I think they may have acted illegally.
