Last year I was a named driver on my mums policy with co-op insurance, im only 23 so this cut costs.

Due to a few changes, this year we changed it so i'm now policy holder and my mums named driver and changed the log book into my name.

Got a policy with Co-op Young Driver insurance at the begining of December 2011. Had an email this week saying they'd removed the named drivers NCD (my mums NCD, +9yrs) this is my first year as policy holder so i have 0 years NCD.

Phoned to ask why? we were with co-op the previous year and had given them the old policy number 3 months ago when i got the new policy. I had offered to send the proof of NCD letter but they didn't need it.

They said that because I had been through a compare site the previous year it wasn't co-op who insured me, it was a broker, despite all the paper work being on co-op headed paper, and they would ONLY accept NCD proof from co-op policies.

Where do i stand on this? I paid over £200 deposit, 3 months premiums and now have to pay £120 cancellation fee, plus admins fees ON TOP of that and find a deposit for another insurance company.

Why can't they accept NCD for named drivers who have been a policy holder for over 9 years?
